Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm originally from San Diego and Homes are going for about $596,400 on average. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Used to live on the Sunset side, now on the Old Town side. Completely different vibe. I have mixed feelings honestly.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.

I've been here 4 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The West side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I've lived in West for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Miami, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good schools in most areas
- The dating scene scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for retirees. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it was the best decision I ever made. Internet is improving in most areas.

Used to live on the North side, now on the Maple Ridge side. Completely different vibe. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Hot take but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. I know a lot of people disagree but after 6 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I'm a real estate agent and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. The community is tough and there's always something going on.

Bought a house here in 2019 and I genuinely enjoy living here. Property values have gone up a bit since then.
