Is Urbana still affordable?

Hello, I've been here for 20 years and Household incomes average around $66,768 in Urbana. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks! There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cost of living, then yeah this place is great. But if cost of living matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 9 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into running, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Riverside side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
