Anyone else feel this way? Born and raised here. It's a a smaller city city with about 64,440 people. Homes are going for about $133,400 on average. Median household income is $51,513, which feels on the lower side for the area. Average temperature is around 47--F, so expect cold winters. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. Worth the trade-offs? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Chicago about 2 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Lots of new development happening
- Active local events and festivals
Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Chain restaurants dominate
Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are pricey, gas is underrated.
Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a lawyer, 45, moved here 9 years ago from San Diego. I've lived in Cedar Grove and Pine Hills, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Lots of new development happening
2. Active local events and festivals
3. Close to major attractions
4. The people are generally decent - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Nightlife is limited
2. Limited shopping options
3. The safety situation is stable and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Cedar Grove: Great for remote workers. average vibes, walkable.
- Pine Hills: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from San Diego, everything felt excellent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are pricey. Gas is pricey. You can live comfortably on $80K-$150K here.
**Final verdict:**
Good luck with whatever you decide.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is cost of living. I love the pace of life here. Worth doing your research before committing.
