With a population of 64,440, Utica is a smaller city. Poverty rate is 22.9%, which is higher than I expected. Rent is about $907/month for a decent place. Median household income is $51,513, which feels on the lower side for the area. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Am I overthinking this? Thanks for reading. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up.
