Best industries in Vacaville right now

Been meaning to ask this. I'm a 37-year-old HR manager and The median home value here is around $596,700, which is pretty steep. Household incomes average around $108,580 in Vacaville. Median household income is $108,580, which feels pretty solid for the area. Average temperature is around 60--F, so the weather is moderate. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The weather takes some getting used to. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a social worker who relocated here from Phoenix about 6 years ago. The main reasons were family and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Nice parks and green spaces

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Winters are long and cold

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are growing, gas is underrated.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Hot take but it's exactly what I was looking for. I know a lot of people disagree but after 3 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (South) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Pittsburgh, be prepared for the culture shock. job market is completely different here. And Property taxes are high.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Used to live on the Greenfield side, now on the Westside side. Completely different vibe. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because it's been a really good experience overall. The traffic is honestly pretty good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Maple Ridge for 11 years. Moved from Denver for work. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is average. We bought in 2018 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.

**Employment:**
tech is strong here. engineering is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are stable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I'm still on the fence after all this time. The outdoor scene is average - we have ski resorts within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Maple Ridge schools are excellent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Summers can be brutally hot. Winters are long and cold. And healthcare can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 5/10. Definitely worth checking out.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Weather-wise, the summers are average and winters are manageable. You get used to it after the first year.

If you value outdoor recreation, you'll love it. The outdoor recreation is genuinely pretty good and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Fairview) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Salt Lake City, be prepared for the culture shock. weather is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
