How safe is Vacaville really?

I've been looking at the stats and Vacaville shows relatively low crime stats. But stats don't always tell the full story. For people who actually live there — do you feel safe? Are there areas to avoid?

I'm especially interested in hearing from women living alone.

Traffic is the worst part honestly. But if you live near work it's fine.

Can confirm the safety issue. But it really depends on the neighborhood. Maple Heights and Midtown are perfectly safe.

Downtown is overrated and overpriced. The suburbs offer way better value.
