Is Vacaville a good place to retire?

My wife and I are planning to retire in the next few years. We're considering Vacaville because of the weather. Weather is moderate — about 60F average.

Cost of living looks a bit high but manageable. How's the healthcare situation? Any retiree communities?

Public transit needs work but they're investing in it. Should improve in next few years.

Can confirm the safety issue. But it really depends on the neighborhood. Highland Park and Pine Grove are perfectly safe.
