Hi all, Household incomes average around $108,580 in Vacaville. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Worth the trade-offs?

Hot take but I genuinely enjoy living here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 14 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want safety, then yeah this place is great. But if traffic matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value safety, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely better than expected and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (Uptown) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Baltimore, be prepared for the culture shock. walkability is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've lived in South for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Close to major attractions
- The healthcare scene is challenging
The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Dating scene is rough
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. Good luck with whatever you decide..
