I keep seeing people overlook Vacaville when talking about great places to live. With a population of 102,085, it's big enough to have everything you need but small enough to feel like a community. The downtown area has been revitalized. Weather is moderate — about 60F average.

Coming from Phoenix, the cost of living difference is noticeable. Groceries and gas are slightly more expensive but housing makes up for it.

The job market has been improving lately. Several logistics companies moved in recently.

Downtown is overrated and overpriced. The suburbs offer way better value.

Check out the Southside area. Way more affordable and still close to everything.

Can confirm the safety issue. But it really depends on the neighborhood. Southside and Old Town are perfectly safe.

Respectfully disagree about the job market. In my experience, it's been pretty safe in my area.

Great post! One thing I'd mention is the west side tends to be more affordable. Makes a big difference.
