Should I move to Vadnais Heights or stay in Pittsburgh?

Hey everyone, We have two kids and Crime rate is something to consider -Vadnais Heights sits at 113.8 per 100K. You can expect to pay around $1,342 for rent here. It's a a small town city with about 12,789 people. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Any help is appreciated. The city has invested a lot in new development. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Weather-wise, the summers are hit or miss and winters are wild. You get used to it after the first year.
