Should I move to Vail or stay in Dallas?

So, Been living here since 2020. Crime rate is something to consider -Vail sits at 33.1 per 100K. Homes are going for about $367,500 on average. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. What are your go-to spots? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a teacher who relocated here from Chicago about 14 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Strong job market in several industries
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are growing, gas is underrated.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Feel free to reach out with questions..
