Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want school system, then yeah this place is great. But if community vibe matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Pine Hills for 12 years. Moved from San Diego for a fresh start. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is challenging. We bought in 2019 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.

**Employment:**
manufacturing is strong here. legal is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are wild for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it exceeded my expectations. The outdoor scene is pretty good - we have state parks within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Pine Hills schools are hit or miss. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Nightlife is limited. Limited high-paying job options. And weather can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 5/10. No regrets on my end.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are better than expected, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from New York and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Pine Hills. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in education. If you're in retail you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like sushi.

Definitely worth checking out..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's exactly what I was looking for. Internet is hit or miss in most areas.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 9 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the Midtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Lots of new development happening
- The housing market scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value traffic, you'll love it. The outdoor recreation is genuinely decent and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (Oak Park) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Charlotte, be prepared for the culture shock. walkability is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value school system, you'll love it. The school system is genuinely excellent and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Sunset) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Denver, be prepared for the culture shock. housing market is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Midtown. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in government. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is walkability. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Worth doing your research before committing.
