Everly moving

Anyone regret moving to Valencia West?

The median home value here is around $276,000, which seems about average. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Thoughts? The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

I've lived in Eastside for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Charlotte, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The nightlife scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for singles. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are surprisingly good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value safety, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely average and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (Eastside) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Charlotte, be prepared for the culture shock. pet-friendliness is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value housing market, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely improving and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Maple Ridge) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Chicago, be prepared for the culture shock. housing market is completely different here. And Road conditions need improvement.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've lived in West for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Diverse dining options
- The outdoor recreation scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for families. No regrets on my end..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Springfield. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in finance. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally pretty good. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like sushi.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

My experience has been mostly positive. it's not perfect but it works for me. The only thing I'd watch out for is pet-friendliness. Other than that, Good luck with whatever you decide..

Weather-wise, the summers are challenging and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.

I've been living here for 2 years and I'd say it's exactly what I was looking for. The food scene is tough compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..

As someone who grew up here, I have mixed feelings honestly. A lot has changed in the past few years though. nightlife used to be much pricey but now it's improving.
