Working remotely from Vallejo — my experience

I've been working remotely from Vallejo for 11 years now. Here's my take:

The pace of life here is perfect for remote work. No crazy commute stress, affordable living, and enough amenities to not feel isolated.

Cost of living: a bit high but manageable
Internet: Could be better but workable with a good provider
Coworking spaces: A few good ones downtown

If you're looking for a place to WFH, Vallejo is underrated for remote workers.

As someone who moved here from Boston, I can confirm most of this. The job opportunities surprised me the most.

If you can afford it, Old Town is the best place to live. Period.

Totally agree with this. I've been here 12 years and my experience is very similar.

Can confirm the safety issue. But it really depends on the neighborhood. Southside and Midtown are perfectly safe.

For families, I'd recommend looking at University District. Schools are rated well and it's quiet.

Weather is the biggest factor for us. Four seasons are nice, not too extreme either way.

Check out the Maple Heights area. Way more affordable and still close to everything.
