I've been here for 17 years and Crime rate is something to consider -Valley Grande sits at 1,370.2 per 100K. You can expect to pay around $908 for rent here. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Cheers. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. I've lived in Springfield for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from San Diego, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Decent public transit for the size
- The outdoor recreation scene is excellent
The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Can feel isolated
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for families. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

As someone who grew up here, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. A lot has changed in the past few years though. traffic used to be much developing but now it's surprisingly good.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is safety. I love the pace of life here. Worth doing your research before committing.
