Remote worker thinking about Van Wert

Anyone else feel this way? Homes are going for about $109,700 on average. It's a a small town city with about 10,710 people. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Am I wrong here? The city has invested a lot in new development. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from New York and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Oak Park. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like Thai.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

I'm a writer and I've found the quality of life is solid. The community is decent and there's always something going on.
