Raising a family in Vancleave -thoughts?

Alright, Crime rate is something to consider -Vancleave sits at 313.1 per 100K. The median home value here is around $218,900, which is actually reasonable. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Would love some local perspective.

I've lived in Eastside for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good internet infrastructure
- The pet-friendliness scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Chain restaurants dominate

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for couples. Definitely worth checking out..
