Is Vancouver still affordable?

You can expect to pay around $1,632 for rent here. Household incomes average around $78,156 in Vancouver. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Anyone in a similar situation? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Miami about 15 years ago. The main reasons were weather and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are affordable, gas is underrated.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Happy to answer more specific questions..
