Best kept secrets of Venice, FL

Hello, Homes are going for about $381,400 on average. It's a a smaller city city with about 26,467 people. Average temperature is around 74--F, so it's warm year-round. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Any advice would be great. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Used to live on the Old Town side, now on the Oak Park side. Completely different vibe. the quality of life is solid.

I've lived in Highland for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Seattle, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Strong sense of community
- The public transit scene is tough

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for singles. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
