Considering Verandah vs Indianapolis -help me decide

Hello, Poverty rate is 2.7%, which is pretty low. The unemployment rate is 3.4%, which is pretty low. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

I work in manufacturing here and I have mixed feelings honestly. The job market for my field is surprisingly good. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value healthcare, you'll love it. The healthcare is genuinely better than expected and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (Lakewood) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Phoenix, be prepared for the culture shock. nightlife is completely different here. And Bugs and humidity in summer.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
