It's a a small town city with about 12,662 people. Average temperature is around 62--F, so the weather is moderate. The median home value here is around $329,300, which seems about average. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development. What neighborhoods would you suggest? The city has invested a lot in new development. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Denver about 12 years ago. The main reasons were family and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Active local events and festivals
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are established, gas is hit or miss.
Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Public transit is tough here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I genuinely enjoy living here.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want school system, then yeah this place is great. But if nightlife matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Houston, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Active local events and festivals
- The cultural scene scene is pretty good
The downsides:
- Can feel isolated
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for retirees. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Hot take but it's improved dramatically in recent years. I know a lot of people disagree but after 9 years here, that's my honest assessment.
