How is the nightlife in Vermillion?

Been meaning to ask this. With a population of 11,800, Vermillion is a small town. The unemployment rate is 7.0%, which is concerning. Household incomes average around $52,815 in Vermillion. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Thoughts? The city has invested a lot in new development. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value traffic, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely average and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Greenfield) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Diego, be prepared for the culture shock. dating scene is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
