Anyone work in healthcare in Vernon Hills?

Hello, Just moved here 12 months ago and Poverty rate is 3.6%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 51--F, so expect cold winters. You can expect to pay around $1,855 for rent here. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Am I wrong here? Cheers. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

I've lived in Pine Hills for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Decent public transit for the size
- The school system scene is average

The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, the quality of life is solid. No regrets on my end..

I've been living here for 14 years and I'd say it was the best decision I ever made. The nightlife is underrated compared to other places I've lived. Overall Happy to answer more specific questions..

Bought a house here in 2019 and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a contractor who relocated here from Charlotte about 14 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good airport with direct flights
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are developing, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. No regrets on my end..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 13 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Meadowbrook side vs the North side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a chef who relocated here from Miami about 1 years ago. The main reasons were work and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Strong job market in several industries
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are manageable, gas is better than expected.

Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Happy to answer more specific questions..

We moved here with our family and it's been a really good experience overall. Schools in Highland area are decent. Kids love it here.
