Curious what people think. I've been here for 17 years and Homes are going for about $384,800 on average. The suburbs are where most families end up. Am I wrong here? The food scene here is surprisingly good. The weather takes some getting used to. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Weather-wise, the summers are improving and winters are established. You get used to it after the first year.

I've lived in Springfield for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Seattle, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Decent public transit for the size
- The outdoor recreation scene is underrated
The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for young professionals. No regrets on my end..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it exceeded my expectations. Compared to Phoenix it's tough.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Charlotte, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Close to major attractions
- The housing market scene is decent
The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Limited shopping options
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for retirees. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
