Things that make Vernonia unique

Not sure if this has been asked before, but Household incomes average around $83,324 in Vernonia. Crime rate is something to consider -Vernonia sits at 87.4 per 100K. Rent is about $1,213/month for a decent place. Median household income is $83,324, which feels pretty solid for the area. With a population of 2,716, Vernonia is a small town. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Pros:
- Easy commute
- Plenty of shopping options
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Cold winters
- Limited nightlife
- Not very walkable
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Not enough green space
Am I overthinking this? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is public transit. it was the best decision I ever made. Worth doing your research before committing.

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The job market is honestly solid and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from San Francisco about 9 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Lots of new development happening
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are reasonable, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Weather-wise, the summers are pretty good and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.
