Anyone else feel this way? I'm single, late 50s, and The median home value here is around $113,000, which is actually reasonable. Poverty rate is 24.0%, which is higher than I expected. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. What are your go-to spots? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in West. It's underrated for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in finance. If you're in construction you might struggle.
People: Generally average. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.
