Is Vian walkable?

Hey everyone, Just moved here 8 months ago and The unemployment rate is 6.8%, which is concerning. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Is this normal for Vian?

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely excellent and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Old Town) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Seattle, be prepared for the culture shock. traffic is completely different here. And Chain restaurants dominate.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Tampa and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Westside. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in education you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Korean.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
