Hey, Rent is about $914/month for a decent place. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Any help is appreciated. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are challenging, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value dating scene, you'll love it. The walkability is genuinely challenging and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (Oak Park) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Tampa, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Came here for family and stayed because the quality of life is solid. The housing market is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it's been a really good experience overall. Compared to Denver it's decent.

Weather-wise, the summers are pretty good and winters are competitive. You get used to it after the first year.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Denver about 11 years ago. The main reasons were weather and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Lots of new development happening
- Good internet infrastructure
Cons that are real:
- Homeless population growing downtown
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are established, gas is decent.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Definitely worth checking out..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I genuinely enjoy living here. Internet is tough in most areas.
