Hey folks, With a population of 20,944, Vicksburg is a small town. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Came here for family and stayed because it's improved dramatically in recent years. The school system is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've lived in Midtown for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Strong job market in several industries
- The weather scene is average
The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Property taxes are high
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for families. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
