Commute times in Victoria -how bad?

OK so I'm a teacher here and Median household income is $192,821, which feels pretty solid for the area. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. What are your go-to spots? The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Seattle about 8 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Decent public transit for the size
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are developing, gas is improving.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a contractor who relocated here from Phoenix about 12 years ago. The main reasons were family and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Close to major attractions
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are wild, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
