Housing in Vienna compared to Phoenix

Alright, I've been here for 16 years and You can expect to pay around $2,430 for rent here. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Highland for 9 years. Moved from San Diego for family. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is pretty good. We bought in 2020 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.

**Employment:**
government is strong here. government is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are manageable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The outdoor scene is tough - we have desert landscapes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Highland schools are solid. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Winters are long and cold. Property taxes are high. And housing market can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 7/10. Hope this helps!. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's improved dramatically in recent years. The only thing I'd watch out for is weather. Other than that, Feel free to reach out with questions..

Bought a house here in 2017 and it was the best decision I ever made. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Greenfield. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in real estate. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Asian.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is cost of living. I genuinely enjoy living here. Worth doing your research before committing.

Hot take but I love the pace of life here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 14 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.

I've been here 14 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Old Town side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cultural scene, then yeah this place is great. But if outdoor recreation matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
