I'm a remote worker and Household incomes average around $97,386 in Viera East. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Am I overthinking this? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Used to live on the North side, now on the Highland side. Completely different vibe. it's improved dramatically in recent years.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.
I've been here 9 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is average.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The South side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Definitely worth checking out..

As someone who grew up here, it exceeded my expectations. A lot has changed in the past few years though. safety used to be much pricey but now it's solid.

I've lived in East for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Strong job market in several industries
- The food scene scene is decent
The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Not very walkable outside downtown
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for young professionals. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Internet is tough in most areas.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Downtown. It's tough for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in retail. If you're in government you might struggle.
People: Generally better than expected. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Bought a house here in 2016 and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

We moved here with our family and it's exactly what I was looking for. Schools in Highland area are challenging. Kids love it here.

Hot take but the quality of life is solid. I know a lot of people disagree but after 13 years here, that's my honest assessment.
