Commute times in View Park-Windsor Hills -how bad?

Random thought, I'm a college student here and Median household income is $120,604, which feels pretty solid for the area. The median home value here is around $1,123,300, which is pretty steep. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Cheers. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The dating scene is genuinely challenging and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (North) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Francisco, be prepared for the culture shock. traffic is completely different here. And Not a lot of cultural diversity.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's been a really good experience overall. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've lived in Eastside for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from San Francisco, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The dating scene scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for young professionals. No regrets on my end..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is community vibe. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Worth doing your research before committing.
