Why I chose Villa Grove over bigger cities

Curious what people think. You can expect to pay around $901 for rent here. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Would love some local perspective. Thanks! People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.

I've been here 12 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is challenging.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Lakewood side vs the North side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.
