Anyone else love living in Villa Rica?

Hello, I grew up here but left for a while. Crime rate is something to consider -Villa Rica sits at 343.2 per 100K. Poverty rate is 7.1%, which is pretty low. The median home value here is around $250,700, which seems about average. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Pros:
- Good job market
- Low crime in most areas
- Good schools
- Diverse community
- Active local events

Cons:
- Limited nightlife
- Sprawl everywhere
- Not enough green space
Does this match your experience? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Baltimore about 4 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Decent public transit for the size
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are pricey, gas is pretty good.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Bought a house here in 2017 and I have mixed feelings honestly. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Strong job market in several industries
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are wild, gas is pretty good.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Feel free to reach out with questions..

I'm a social worker and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. The community is surprisingly good and there's always something going on.
