My family moved here when I was a kid. Household incomes average around $86,052 in Villa Rica. Homes are going for about $250,700 on average. It's a a small town city with about 17,798 people. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Looking forward to hearing from you all. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Hot take but there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. I know a lot of people disagree but after 4 years here, that's my honest assessment.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Internet is tough in most areas.

I've lived in Lakewood for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Houston, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Four distinct seasons
- The community vibe scene is decent
The downsides:
- Limited shopping options
- Dating scene is rough
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for couples. Definitely worth checking out..

Bought a house here in 2022 and I genuinely enjoy living here. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Uptown for 5 years. Moved from Charlotte for cost of living. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is average. We bought in 2021 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.
**Employment:**
finance is strong here. consulting is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are developing for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
it's been a really good experience overall. The outdoor scene is solid - we have state parks within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Uptown schools are solid. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Nightlife is limited. Bugs and humidity in summer. And safety can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 9/10. No regrets on my end.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.
I've been here 15 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is better than expected.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the South side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

As someone who grew up here, I genuinely enjoy living here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. weather used to be much affordable but now it's decent.
