Best kept secrets of Village of Oak Creek (Big Park), AZ

OK so It's a a small town city with about 6,340 people. Household incomes average around $80,197 in Village of Oak Creek (Big Park). Average temperature is around 63--F, so the weather is moderate. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Am I wrong here? The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cost of living, then yeah this place is great. But if dating scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a teacher who relocated here from New York about 13 years ago. The main reasons were family and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Decent public transit for the size
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Chain restaurants dominate

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are competitive, gas is pretty good.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Feel free to reach out with questions..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are hit or miss, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
