Why I chose Village Shires over bigger cities

Not sure if this has been asked before, but Military spouse here. Household incomes average around $111,218 in Village Shires. With a population of 3,360, Village Shires is a small town. The suburbs are where most families end up. What do you all think?

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in East. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in tech. If you're in engineering you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. I have mixed feelings honestly. Compared to Denver it's surprisingly good.
