Working in Villas -salaries realistic?

First post here. I grew up here but left for a while. With a population of 13,578, Villas is a small town. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Let me know your thoughts. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.

I've been here 3 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The East side vs the Lakewood side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a chef who relocated here from San Francisco about 7 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Lots of new development happening
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are established, gas is underrated.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Bought a house here in 2016 and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Property values have gone up a bit since then.
