I'm retired and Homes are going for about $74,100 on average. Average temperature is around 49--F, so expect cold winters. Poverty rate is 11.6%, which is around average. Household incomes average around $58,469 in Villisca. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Am I wrong here? Appreciate any input. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

I've lived in Greenfield for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from San Diego, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The outdoor recreation scene is underrated
The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Road conditions need improvement
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for retirees. Hope this helps!.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Seattle, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Good healthcare facilities
- The cost of living scene is pretty good
The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Far from beaches/mountains
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for young professionals. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
