Freelancing from Vincennes -experience?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

I work in engineering here and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The job market for my field is decent. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Came here for family and stayed because I have mixed feelings honestly. The healthcare is honestly solid and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Bought a house here in 2022 and it's exactly what I was looking for. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

Hot take but I have mixed feelings honestly. I know a lot of people disagree but after 10 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a contractor who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 14 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Diverse dining options
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are reasonable, gas is tough.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Hope this helps!.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a chef who relocated here from LA about 13 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Lots of new development happening
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are competitive, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Riverside for 4 years. Moved from Charlotte for school. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is better than expected. We bought in 2022 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.

**Employment:**
real estate is strong here. education is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are pricey for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it exceeded my expectations. The outdoor scene is better than expected - we have state parks within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Riverside schools are tough. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited public transit options. Property taxes are high. And food scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 7/10. It's not for everyone but it works for us.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
