What surprised you most about Vincennes?

Hey, Homes are going for about $98,700 on average. With a population of 16,676, Vincennes is a small town. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. What do you all think? Thanks! People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

I've lived in Eastside for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Houston, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Strong job market in several industries
- The cultural scene scene is decent

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for singles. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. I genuinely enjoy living here. Compared to Houston it's improving.

I've lived in Downtown for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Active local events and festivals
- Close to major attractions
- The walkability scene is decent

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for retirees. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
