Moving to Vincent for work -advice?

Hello, The unemployment rate is 3.9%, which is pretty low. Rent is about $2,013/month for a decent place. Household incomes average around $99,157 in Vincent. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The suburbs are where most families end up. Has anyone dealt with this? Looking forward to hearing from you all. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The food scene here is surprisingly good. OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a accountant, 47, moved here 5 years ago from San Diego. I've lived in Fairview and Uptown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Good healthcare facilities
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally excellent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Property taxes are high
2. Limited shopping options
3. The cultural scene situation is pricey and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Fairview: Great for retirees. challenging vibes, walkable.
- Uptown: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from San Diego, everything felt excellent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are competitive. Gas is reasonable. You can live comfortably on $100K-$130K here.

**Final verdict:**
Definitely worth checking out.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a contractor who relocated here from Boston about 4 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good healthcare facilities
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Property taxes are high

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are manageable, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I'm a physical therapist and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. The community is underrated and there's always something going on.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it was the best decision I ever made. Compared to Pittsburgh it's underrated.

I've been living here for 4 years and I'd say I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The walkability is challenging compared to other places I've lived. Overall Definitely worth checking out..
