What I wish I knew before living in Vineland
Anyone else feel this way? I'm a teacher here and It's a a smaller city city with about 60,692 people. Average temperature is around 55--F, so expect cold winters. The unemployment rate is 5.1%, which is about average. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.
Pros:
- Nice parks and trails
- Easy commute
- Good healthcare facilities
- Walkable downtown
- Good internet infrastructure
Cons:
- Sprawl everywhere
- Limited dining options
- Limited cultural events
- Not enough green space
Any advice would be great. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up.
