Anyone regret moving to Vineyard?

Hi all, Median household income is $100,022, which feels pretty solid for the area. Rent is about $1,781/month for a decent place. Homes are going for about $562,600 on average. With a population of 13,510, Vineyard is a small town. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Hot take but I love the pace of life here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 7 years here, that's my honest assessment.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are average, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a writer who relocated here from New York about 6 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Limited high-paying job options

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are competitive, gas is better than expected.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
