Best neighborhoods in Vineyard

Curious what people think. I'm retired and Poverty rate is 6.1%, which is pretty low. You can expect to pay around $1,781 for rent here. The median home value here is around $562,600, which is pretty steep. The unemployment rate is 2.1%, which is pretty low. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Pros:
- Close to nature
- Diverse community
- Good healthcare facilities
- Walkable downtown
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons:
- Limited nightlife
- Sprawl everywhere
- Boring for young people
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Homelessness issues downtown
What do you all think? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. We moved here with our family and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Schools in East area are decent. Kids love it here.

As someone who grew up here, it exceeded my expectations. A lot has changed in the past few years though. job market used to be much established but now it's improving.

Moved here from San Diego about 3 years ago. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Still getting used to walkability but Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've lived in Fairview for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Seattle, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Good internet infrastructure
- The safety scene is improving

The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for families. No regrets on my end..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 11 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Riverside side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
