Best coffee shops in Virginia Beach?

Hi all, We have two kids and It's a a mid-size city city with about 457K people. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Is this normal for Virginia Beach? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

I work in tech here and it's not perfect but it works for me. The job market for my field is tough. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a chef who relocated here from Baltimore about 4 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Lots of new development happening
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are competitive, gas is better than expected.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Good luck with whatever you decide..
