Moving from Los Angeles to Virginia Beach next month

Hey everyone, You can expect to pay around $1,649 for rent here. Homes are going for about $366,300 on average. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Any advice would be great. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Came here for retirement and stayed because it exceeded my expectations. The public transit is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Public transit is tough here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's improved dramatically in recent years.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it exceeded my expectations. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
