Starting a business in Vista?

Hey everyone, I'm retired and Rent is about $2,148/month for a decent place. You can expect to pay around $2,148 for rent here. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. Am I wrong here? The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Bought a house here in 2022 and I love the pace of life here. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The outdoor recreation is genuinely average and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (East) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Francisco, be prepared for the culture shock. safety is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

The food scene here is hit or miss. Tons of great Mexican places. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.
