Housing market in Wabash right now

It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Bought a house here in 2016 and it's been a really good experience overall. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

Came here for quality of life and stayed because I love the pace of life here. The food scene is honestly decent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Seattle and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Midtown. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in engineering. If you're in engineering you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

Definitely worth checking out..

I've lived in Downtown for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Lots of new development happening
- The walkability scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for couples. Hope this helps!.
